What is Music Therapy?

Music Therapy is a noninvasive form of treatment that uses music as a therapeutic tool to address non-musical goals. This evidence-based practice can address client’s physical, psychosocial, emotional, and spiritual needs. Music functions not only as a means for connection between client and therapist through the use of client preferred music, but also as an efficient tool for achieving therapeutic goals due to its ability to activate vast and diverse parts of the brain.

Clinical Music Therapy

CMMT offers individual or group therapy in the medical setting to address our clients’ social, emotional, and physical needs. Music therapy in medicine allows our clients the opportunity to experience connection and healing in a noninvasive and highly individualized way through the use of client preferred music and evidence-based music therapy interventions.

Program Development Consulting

With CMMT’s passion for increasing access to music therapy, we are looking to help develop music therapy programs in areas of need. If you are interested in helping your organization create a music therapy program, please feel free to reach out and we can help you develop a music therapy program for your organization!

Clinical Art Therapy

Art Therapy is a noninvasive form of treatment that uses the creative process as a therapeutic tool to explore emotions, reduce stress, and promote personal growth. The focus of art therapy is on expression and well-being rather than the final artistic product. This evidence-based practice supports clients’ physical, psychosocial, emotional, and spiritual needs. Through mediums such as drawing, painting, and sculpture, artmaking becomes a powerful tool for self-expression beyond words, engaging diverse areas of the brain to support healing and overall well-being.
